High Street Greening

We are working with local business in the high street along members of the local community in making a more vibrant and colourful shopping experience for our town. We need more plants to create colour and also support in terms of basic pruning, weeding and watering. Rory is a Qualified Teacher and Graduate Engineer.  As well as an Air B& B host, Rory also works as Private Tutor, Market Trader and a Ride Operator at Dreamland.  He is excited to have the opportunity to continue his involvement in enabling, supporting and working on programs for the regeneration & sustainability of  Margate.

Pamela (Secretary & Director) is the Co-ordinator of the Cliftonville Partnership supporting businesses, organising/managing street scene projects, applying for funding, sustaining membership, organising community events; referring concerns; and aiming to raise the profile of Northdown Road. She is also the Lead Panel Member for Cliftonville First and Chair of Margate Civic Society. Before training in Community Development, she set up courses and taught vocational subjects for 20 years.

Gary is a Local Businessman and Proprietor of Ministry of Pies in Margate. He is also an Independent Food & Hygiene Assessor.  Gary-Paul has over 25 years’ experience as a Chef /Publican and Manager involved in the food, retail and leisure industries. He is also an active community supporter and over several years has worked as a Charity Fundraiser organising events for Red Nose Day.

Alan has lived and worked in Margate for 23 years, running his own businesses (Brilliant at Bookkeeping). He has been very involved in local education as a School Governor at Palm Bay Primary School for 20 years and several years, as a Senior Manager at both Canterbury and East Kent Colleges. He is passionate about the regeneration of the East Kent Coastal towns, in particular helping Margate face the challenges of the future.
